Isaiah 10:20-27
Jude 17-25
Luke 3:1-9

Luke 3:4: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness:  ‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.’”

John the Baptist announced that hope to the world.  Years before that, the angels announced that hope to the shepherds. “Glory to God in the highest.” Each time we come to the Christmas season our hearts stir with peace and joy!  We know what the birth of Jesus means.

Luke 2:11:  “For unto you is born in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord.”

When I was a child, I was raised by Christian parents, in a loving home, with three brothers and one sister.  Our family spent much time together singing hymns and praising God.  We were nourished and taught to love others.  Christmas was always a wonderful time.

As mature Christians we all know that the spirit of Christmas is what we should practice all year.  God is merciful and always provides for us.  Daily needs, love, hope, comfort, support, and companionship are things we can share with others.  To give of ourselves is to keep the Christmas spirit alive.

May God bless and keep you, everyone!

Prayer:  Dear Father, thank you for giving your son Jesus to save us from our sins.  We are so grateful for all your wondrous love and care.  Amen.
