Church Office Hours - The church office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Fridays.

Worship Thought
Read Romans 7:15-25a and consider the habits you would like to change.  Why do you think they are so difficult to change?  Make a plan to slowly make changes in your habits.  - Alive Now, July/August

Endowment Note:   You can accomplish something really wonderful by helping your church help other people by doing Christ’s work in the world.  Use your last gift by making it count for Christ.  Think about it – you can make a difference. For more information, please call Tom Scholl

Upper Room Daily Devotional Booklets
for July/August are available on the table in the Narthex.  A donation of $1.25 per copy is requested to help defray the cost.

Thank you to Bryan and Laurel Martin
for hosting today’s Coffee Hour.  Use the sign-up sheet in the Lounge or contact Elizabeth Austin-Benard and let her know which Sunday would be best for you!  Coffee Hour Hosts are needed for August 3 and 10.

The next game of Epworth’s softball team is scheduled for July 15 at 6:30 p.m. against Ascension Episcopal Church at Johnsons Park.  We lost last week’s doubleheader. A rain makeup game will be played on July 8 against Fairhaven at Darnstown Park.  For more formation, please contact Jerry McCowin

Our Hispanic Tutoring program will have a Vacation Bible School from July 15-17 in Fellowship Hall.  It’s a Beach Party – Surfin’ Through the Scriptures!  To register your child or to volunteer to help, please contact Ana Brito, Director.

UNICEF will be featured on CNN tonight at 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. with the program “The Survival Project – One Child at a Time.”  Find out why nearly 10 million children die every year from preventable causes…and how to save them.

As of July 1, Epworth UMC is now in the Central Maryland District, Washington Region, of the Baltimore-Washington Conference.

The Contemporary Praise and Worship Service will resume in the Fall.

Paper grocery bags are needed for the Thrift Shop.

Old-Fashioned Hymn Sing:  Come and join us for Worship at 10:00 a.m. on July 27 and plan to sing your favorite hymn!  Enjoy a Sundae on Sunday!  Following the Old-Fashioned Hymn Sing on July 27, please come to the Ice Cream Social in Fellowship Hall during the Coffee Hour – sponsored by the Worship Committee.

Summer Sunday School – Adult Sunday School will continue to meet at 9:00 a.m. in Room 201 during the summer. Children’s and Youth Sunday School schedule is as follows:

  - Today  to August 24:  “Around the World” Sunday School Camp for Pre-K through 5th grade
       > Older students can assist
       > Wear comfortable clothes and come ready to tour the world as you learn about God!
  - August 31:  Nursery & Pre-K only; Other children & youth attend worship service

NOTE: Children should continue to attend the beginning of the worship service; they will be dismissed after the Children’s Sermon.

Nursery & Pre-K available year-round – Summer is a great time to volunteer with the Nursery & Pre-K. Sunday School teachers get a break in the summer… but Nursery & Pre-K are staffed 52 Sundays a year! We can use your help!

Food Lion Gift Cards - Epworth still has Food Lion (and Giant) gift cards available for purchase each Sunday after service.  The Food Lion cards are accepted at the new Bottom Dollar Foods and Bloom stores as these are owned by Food Lion.  Epworth receives 5% from each Food Lion card sold.  Giant gives 4%.  For information, please contact Cheryl White  or Laurel Martin.

Keep Saving Those Campbell’sSoup Labels!  Thank you to all of the Epworth members who take the time to save Campbell’s Soup labels for the Preschool!

Those labels really do add up and we are able to acquire materials and equipment with the credits that we earn.  Campbell’s has changed their submission
requirement for the labels – now we have to turn in the UPC bar code on the label to receive proper credit.
So when you are cutting the labels,
be sure to
include the UPC code.  If you have any questions, please contact Malinda Smith in the Preschool Office at 301-977-3421 or
at epworth.preschool@eumc-md.org.
Are you looking for a way to put a jingle in your Monday nights?  Join the Epworth Ringers!  We meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
